I finally decided to buy the new 11-inch iPad after years of pondering whether I needed one. My old laptop was slowing down, and I wanted something lighter and more versatile for travel and casual browsing at home. Boy, am I glad I made the switch!
The iPad has been an absolute joy to use. It's crazy how fast the A16 chip is; it makes my old laptop feel like it's from the Stone Age. I can zip through tasks, browse the web, and even stream movies without any lag whatsoever. And the battery life? Forget about charging it every day - a single charge lasts me well over a week with moderate use.
Two things that have genuinely impressed me are the display and the Apple Pencil support. The Liquid Retina display is gorgeous, making it an absolute pleasure to watch shows or read books on. As for the Apple Pencil, I've been having fun doodling in Notes app, something I never bothered doing on my laptop.
The only minor gripe I have is that there's no headphone jack. But then again, I've got wireless earbuds now, so it's not a deal-breaker.
