My take: I've tracked weather and crowd data for Los Angeles across every month since 2020. The numbers below come from Open-Meteo historical averages (1990-2024), flight-price trackers from Aviasales, and my own trip notes. If a month looks "good" on paper but I'd personally skip it, I say so.

Best months: September, June, July — comfortable temperatures, lower rainfall, good value.
I went to Los Angeles in June 2023 and was surprised by how quiet the beaches felt before the summer rush started. Best months offer 26°C average highs, 10mm rainfall, and 85% sunny days. The biggest hidden cost is parking fees; I paid $45 for two hours near Santa Monica Pier, a trap many guides omit.
