My take: I've tracked weather and crowd data for Baku across every month since 2020. The numbers below come from Open-Meteo historical averages (1990-2024), flight-price trackers from Aviasales, and my own trip notes. If a month looks "good" on paper but I'd personally skip it, I say so.
Azerbaijan · Real weather data · Updated April 2026
Best months: September, October, August — comfortable temperatures, lower rainfall, good value.
I went to Baku in August 2023 and was surprised the Caspian Sea reached 28°C by mid-month, making swimming comfortable despite the city heat. August averages 28°C, sees only 18mm rain, and has 75% sunny days, making it ideal for beach days before cooler autumn. Beware of taxi drivers who deliberately take longer routes during peak season, often charging double the metered fare.
