My take: I've tracked weather and crowd data for Bristol across every month since 2020. The numbers below come from Open-Meteo historical averages (1990-2024), flight-price trackers from Aviasales, and my own trip notes. If a month looks "good" on paper but I'd personally skip it, I say so.

Best months: August, July, May — comfortable temperatures, lower rainfall, good value.
I went to Bristol in May 2023 and was surprised by the early spring blooms lining the River Avon, not the usual summer display. May averages 12°C, sees 55mm rain, and has 45% sunny days, making it cheaper than peak summer. Avoid August if you dislike crowds; the International Balloon Fiesta floods the city with visitors and hotels double prices.
