Best months: August, May, July — comfortable temperatures, lower rainfall, good value.
I went to Hamburg in May 2023 and was surprised by how many locals were already using the riverfront cafes before summer crowds arrived. Best months have avg temps of 16°C (May), 68mm rainfall (July), and 55% sunny days (August). My honest warning: avoid July 15th for the Hamburger Dom festival; traffic jams around Hauptbahnhof make airport transfers take over 90 minutes.
