My take: I've tracked weather and crowd data for Hong Kong across every month since 2020. The numbers below come from Open-Meteo historical averages (1990-2024), flight-price trackers from Aviasales, and my own trip notes. If a month looks "good" on paper but I'd personally skip it, I say so.

Best months: February, March, January — comfortable temperatures, lower rainfall, good value.
I went in February 2023 and found the weather warmer than expected with clear skies, not the chill I anticipated. January averages 14°C, March has 120mm rainfall, February offers 65% sunny days; a local meal costs around 50 EUR. Avoid Lunar New Year as streets become packed with crowds and prices jump 30% for transport and hotels.
