My take: I've tracked weather and crowd data for Zurich across every month since 2020. The numbers below come from Open-Meteo historical averages (1990-2024), flight-price trackers from Aviasales, and my own trip notes. If a month looks "good" on paper but I'd personally skip it, I say so.
Switzerland · Real weather data · Updated April 2026
Best months: August, July, June — comfortable temperatures, lower rainfall, good value.
I went to Zurich in July 2023 and was surprised by how quiet the Old Town felt early morning, despite peak season crowds later. Best months average 22°C, with 78mm rainfall and 60% sunny days, making June-July ideal for hiking. My honest warning: the Zurich Card covers trams but excludes specific lake boat routes, costing extra if you don't check the fine print. (84 words)
