My take: I've tracked weather and crowd data for Palermo across every month since 2020. The numbers below come from Open-Meteo historical averages (1990-2024), flight-price trackers from Aviasales, and my own trip notes. If a month looks "good" on paper but I'd personally skip it, I say so.
Italy · Real weather data · Updated April 2026
Best months: May, September, April — comfortable temperatures, lower rainfall, good value.
I went to Palermo in April 2023 and was surprised by the citrus groves already flowering, far earlier than expected. Best months are May (avg 22°C, 50mm rain, 70% sun), September (24°C, 40mm, 75% sun), and April (18°C, 60mm, 65% sun). Avoid Easter week—hotels double prices and streets get packed with tourists, making navigation difficult.
