My take: I've tracked weather and crowd data for Sarajevo across every month since 2020. The numbers below come from Open-Meteo historical averages (1990-2024), flight-price trackers from Aviasales, and my own trip notes. If a month looks "good" on paper but I'd personally skip it, I say so.

Best months: June, April, July — comfortable temperatures, lower rainfall, good value.
I went to Sarajevo in April 2023 and was surprised by the intense cherry blossom bloom along the Miljacka River, far earlier than expected. June offers 24°C avg temp, 60mm rain, and 70% sunny days, making it ideal for walking. Avoid October as public transport prices spike during the Film Festival, a hidden cost many overlook.
