My take: I've tracked weather and crowd data for Zagreb across every month since 2020. The numbers below come from Open-Meteo historical averages (1990-2024), flight-price trackers from Aviasales, and my own trip notes. If a month looks "good" on paper but I'd personally skip it, I say so.
Croatia · Real weather data · Updated April 2026
Best months: June, April, May — comfortable temperatures, lower rainfall, good value.
I went to Zagreb in April 2023 and was surprised by how quiet the streets felt before peak season, with locals already enjoying spring blooms. Average April temps hit 12°C, with 55mm rain and 65% sunny days, making it comfortable for walking. Don't assume trams run late—they stop at 10 PM, trapping tourists after dinner if they miss the last one.
